APPLICANT: Bayside Shellfish
PROJECT NAME: Bayside Shellfish – Jenkins Sound PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bayside Shellfish proposes to cultivate Eastern oysters (Crassostrea virginica) within an existing State-issued shellfish lease area in Jenkins Sound, Cape May County, New Jersey. Oysters will be grown using a basket-on-longline aquaculture system, which consists of culture baskets attached to longlines supported by posts and anchors. This gear is designed to be adjustable to accommodate changing tidal conditions and routine farm maintenance.
