PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on August 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM, prevailing time, at the Middle Township Municipal Building, located at Boyd and Mechanic Streets, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210, the Middle Township Zoning Board of Adjustment will hold a hearing on the application for development of the undersigned. Applicant seeks all required approvals and relief so as to permit:
Applicant, City of Wildwood – Water Utility, is the owner and operator of a pump station located on the subject property. Applicant wishes to erect an eight (8) foot high security fence to protect the infrastructure servicing the ratepayers in the various municipalities. The installation of the eight (8) foot high security fence for which Applicant seeks variance relief was recommended as best practices as identified in a Risk and Resiliency Report generated in conjunction with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
To accomplish the same, applicant seeks “C” variance relief from Township Code: § 218-84D, which requires that requiring that, “Fences erected in the Township of Middle shall not exceed six feet in height above ground level” and “Any fences located in a front yard… shall not exceed a height of four feet”. Applicant seeks any and all variances, waivers or approvals as necessary to permit the installation of the fence.
A copy of the said application and accompanying documents will be on file with the Secretary of the Middle Township Zoning Board/Zoning Officer and may be inspected, during normal business hours, in the Middle Township Zoning Office, Middle Township Municipal Building, Boyd and Mechanic Streets, Cape May Court House, New Jersey, by all interested parties at least ten (10) days prior to the said hearing. Further, any interested party may appear in person or be attorney at said hearing and participate therein in accordance with the rules of the Middle Township Zoning Board. This notice is sent pursuant to the requirements of the Municipal Land Use Law.
