PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on February 26, 2026 at 6:00 PM, prevailing time, a hearing will be held before the City of Cape May Zoning Board at Cape May City Hall, 643 Washington Street,
Cape May, NJ 08204 on the application of the subject property for site plan approval together with those variances or waivers deemed necessary by the Board so as to permit:
The enclosure of the open-air porch located at the front of the home for the addition of bedroom(s) and living space. The subject property is located in the R1(PW) Zoning District on the premises
located at 1604 Maryland Avenue and designated as Block 1187, Lot 2 on the Tax Map of the City of Cape May. Applicant was recently granted variance relief with respect to lot coverage, outdoor
shower location, height and width, together with a zoning review due to prior variance relief pursuant to Resolution No.: 12-18-2025:2. Applicant now seeks additional relief with respect to
the first floor elevation where 10.4 feet is provided but 10.5 feet is required to permit the construction as set forth on the plans.
The section citations and titles of the City Code for which relief is sought are as follows:
Section 525-58D(3) and the provisions of Chapter regarding 258 Flood Damage Protection for new construction (Section 258-2C providing the required two foot of freeboard as required; 1.4′
provided) together with any other variances, waivers and/or relief as may be necessary to permit the contemplated construction.
All maps and documents relating to this application are on file the Planning and Zoning Board Secretary at 643 Washington Street, Cape May, NJ 08204 on and may be examined on any weekday between 7:30 AM 3:30 PM. Access to building and files can be obtained by contacting
the Board Secretary at (609) 884-9549. Any interested party may appear at said hearing and participate therein in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:55-11 and the rules of the City of Cape May Zoning Board.
