NOTICE OF DECISION
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at the conclusion of a hearing held before it on April 14, 2026, the Planning Board for the City of Cape May granted (1) an extension of site plan approval to July 9, 2029 affecting the banquet center described below and demolition/replacement of approximately 51 hotel rooms in concert with the existing La Mer Beachfront Resort; and (2) amended preliminary and final major site plan approval with “c” variance relief concerning minimum accessory parking spaces to the undersigned, to allow the undersigned applicant to modify a prior condition of approval memorialized by Resolution #07-09-2024:1 adopted July 9, 2024, which prohibited special events at an approved approximately 202-seat banquet center from June 15 to Labor Day weekend. With this approval the applicant is permitted to hold events year round subject to conditions as contained in the written Resolution. This approval affects property located at 1317 Beach Avenue. The property is also shown and designated as Lots 6-26 in Block 1146 on the City of Cape May tax map and is improved with the existing La Mer Beachfront Resort and Pier House Restaurant with related improvements.
The decision of the Board was memorialized in a written Resolution adopted by the said City of Cape May Planning Board on May 16, 2026, and is available at the office of Construction/Zoning at City Hall, 643 Washington Street, Cape May, New Jersey.
