Notice of Early Public Notice
The Borough of Wildwood Crest is proposing to expend Federal Funds in an area that is subject to flooding as identified by the Federal Insurance Administration. The subject funds are from the Small Cities Community Development Program which is administered by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and funded under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended.
The Borough of Wildwood Crest is proposing to use FY 2026 Small Cities Community Development Block Grant funds not yet approved to make improvements at the Wildwood Crest Fishing Pier located at the beach end of Heather Road to undertake the following ADA accessibility improvements: (1) complete replacement of the fishing pier decking to provide ADA compliance, (2) widening of the fishing pier walkway to provide better ADA access and (3) provide ADA accessible fishing platforms where none exist. These proposed ADA compliance improvements lie within the 100 year flood plain as identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The purpose of this Notice is to comply with Executive Order 11988, Floodplain Management, by giving early notice to interested agencies, groups and persons. The Borough of Wildwood Crest is desirous of considering any feasible alternatives or adjustments to the anticipated project that might minimize any potential adverse effects upon the floodplain as a result of this project.
