PUBLIC NOTICE
Take notice that an application has been resubmitted to the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Land Use Regulation for a Waterfront Development and Costal Wetland Individual Permit for The Wetlands Institute (TWI) development described below. Please note that this notice is for the resubmission of an application (DLRP File # 0506-09-0067.2 LUP250001), which was previously noticed October 15, 2025. The application was withdrawn February 18, 2026 to allow for additional technical review/comment and to more closely link the permit applications’ decision timeframes of the Waterfront Development/Coastal Wetland Individual Permits with the still pending CAFRA Individual Permit. The proposed TWI development activities have not been modified or changed as compared to the original application.

PROJECT NAME: The Wetlands Institute Campus Building and Salt Marsh Trail
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Wetlands Institute is proposing site improvements which include raising the salt marsh trail, reconstruction of the campus building, and salt marsh enhancement activities.
PROJECT LOCATION: 1075 Stone Harbor Boulevard, Block 315.01, Lots 22 and 22.01, in Middle Township, Cape May County, New Jersey
This notice is sent by order of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The complete permit application package can be reviewed by the public at either the Middle Township Municipal Clerk’s office, or by appointment at the Department’s Trenton Office. The Department of Environmental Protection welcomes comments and any information that you may provide concerning the proposed project and site. Please submit your written comments within 15 calendar days of the date of this letter to:
